Vocal Coaching

I coach singers at all levels - from established professionals preparing roles in the world’s great opera houses to students at conservatoire. I regularly coach students at the Royal Academy of Music, the National Opera Studio and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Over the years I have prepared productions of Handel, Mozart, Purcell, Monteverdi, Rameau, Cavalli and more at Glyndebourne, Garsington, English National Opera, Teatro Real Madrid, Theater an der Wien, Bayerisches Staatsoper, Oper Frankfurt, and Dutch National Opera.

I’m particularly passionate about the intersection of spoken and sung language, clarity of musical and emotional idea in ornamentation and the emotional directness of this repertoire.

I combine my coaching in London with coaching from my studio in Oxfordshire where I also have the flexibility to work at a variety of different historical pitches and temperaments as is required.
